I. About Weather and Dressing

Beijing has four different seasons with the yearly average temperature 10-12 ℃. Spring is short and windy but not very cold. Dust coat is suitable. Summer is rainy and hot with the maximum temperature 30 ℃ in the day time. Autumn is clear and mild, the best season in Beijing, but pitifully short.Winter is dry and the feather coat or down coat is suitable.

II. About Eating

There are student canteen and restaurant on campus with various food and reasonable price. International students can have their food in students’ canteen or restaurant paid in the form of food card or cash. Muslim food is also available in the students’ canteen. They can also cook in their own flat.

There are many Chinese and foreign restaurants near the University, such as some traditional Chinese food restaurants like Zhongjun Restaurant, Huahua Restaurant, Xinjiulong Sichuan Food Restaurant, Guolin Homemade Food Restaurant and so on; and some fast food restaurants like KFC, McDonald's and Pizza Huts and some Italian and Japanese restaurants.

III. About Sports

International students can enjoy exercises like running, jogging, playing basketball, tennis, table tennis and so on and also can exercise in the gym.

About Internet

Internet is available in the International Students Apartment which can be logged with payment. Internet users on campus can freely surf various digital books and magazines through over 40 database provided by the library.

IV. About Medical Care

The international student must pay for insurance and hospitalization accident emergency can be settled by claims. There is a clinic attached to BUCEA. If ill, treatment is available there with the cost charged.Nearby the campus are Peking University People’s Hospital Fuwai Hospital and other famous hospitals.

V. About Surroundings

Grocery store can be found on campus. There are many shopping malls and supermarket around BUCEA,and some wholesale markets as well. Besides,there are post office, China Construction Bank, Industry and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of Communications near the school.

VI. About Transportation

It will take 10 minutes to Xizhimen subway station and 20minute toXizhimen railway station from the university on foot.

There are many buses at the university gate, like Bus Te-4 to Tian’anmen,Bus 65 and Bus 319 to Beijing West Railway Station, Bus 716 to Zhongguancun, Bus 814 to Tiantan (Temple of Heaven), Bus 714 to Xiangshan (Fragrant Hill), Bus 732 to Summer Palace and so on. 

1. From Capital International Airport to BUCEA:

Taxi: about 40 minutes, 90 RMB

Airport Shuttle:

Ticket:  16 RMB

① Take Airport Shuttle Line-4 (from Capital International Airport to Gongzhufen) and get off at Beitaipingzhuang and then take BusYongtong 104 (from Wangjing Newtown toYinghuisi) and get off at Xiwai Street and then walk to BUCEA on foot.

② Take Airport Shuttle Line-2 (from Capital International Airport to Xidan) and get off at Dongzhimen and then take subway to Xizhimen and get out of Gate A, then walk to BUCEA on foot.

2. From Beijing Railway Station to BUCEA:

Take subway to get off at Xizhimen and get out of Gate A and walk to BUCEA on foot.

From Beijing West Railway Station to BUCEA:

Take Bus 65, Bus319 to get off at Zhanlanguan (BUCEA).

VII. Average cost

Average monthly expenses are around 2000-3000 yuan, mainly in the living, eating, transportation, clothing, books and so on.
